Our Story
Established in 2024, Seven Loaves Baking Co was created to share delicious sourdough bread to the community outside of the Houston suburbs in Conroe, TX.
I first started baking sourdough with the goal to replace all of our store bought breads with homemade versions. Sourdough was a family favorite and has so many benefits, it was an easy place to start. I had a lot to learn seeing as though there are additional steps that sourdough requires due to the wild yeast that is used vs commercial store bought yeast.
With two little kids at home, I didn’t realize I was committing to another mouth to feed, my sourdough starter, but the bread has always been delicious and even easy on my gluten free sister in law’s stomach. I’ve accepted the additional responsibility to keep my starter alive knowing the family, and our neighbors love the bread its responsible for!

Where did the name come from?
The feeding of the 4000 in Matthew! Jesus fed the 4000 with seven loaves and two fish. You can read all about it in Matthew 15:29-39.
I don’t know anything about fish, but I do know how to bake. I have loved sharing my bread with our family and neighbors over the years. I knew I wanted a name that tied back to Jesus and this felt like the perfect fit.
